Back home from a whirlwind birthday trip to the Sunshine Coast to visit family, lasting just over 24 hours.  The ferry over was operating on only one engine, and shortly after we disembarked I could hear the fire alarm sounding.  Exciting.  Birthday consisted of family, chocolate cake, a delicious seafood pasta dinner up at Madeira Park in Pender ( Read more... )

As of this weekend, I will have been back in Vancouver for a year, after spending seven months convalescing, recovering on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.  If you need a place to find yourself, gather your thoughts and ambitions, a place where you can be safe, I cannot recommend this area enough.  It was a good seven months, for the most part, where ( Read more... )

• I'm going to be an uncle.  Again.  My sister informed me earlier this week that she is pregnant with baby number 3.  She is scheduled to come into the city and have some tests done to make sure that all is well; she's pushing forty and there is apparently increased risk of things such as Down's Syndrome occurring.  ( Read more... )

Just back from a family visit to the Sunshine Coast, from Gibsons to Burnaby in just over two hours.  Not bad - thank-you, BC Ferries!
